About 90% of stroke risk factors preventableAbout 90% of stroke risk factors preventable
Foundation-funded researchers recently reported that such stroke risk factors as high blood pressure, smoking, abdominal obesity and inactivity are preventable. The study looked at 6,000 people from 22 countries and found that programs addressing these modifiable risk factors will be key to preventing stroke now and in the future. Read more.

Every year they run a province-wide fundraising campaign and encourage BC Hydro employees and retirees to donate to their favourite charity or a pre-selected Special Project. The Heart and Stroke Foundation has taken a major step toward helping Canadians access and manage their heart health with the newly launched TELUS health space. This secure web-based platform will include unique applications to encourage personal health record-keeping and the ability to self-assess several heart-health-related conditions.
