Living with Stroke™ Program

Stroke survivors will have an incredible opportunity to improve recovery and find hope through a new program launching in BC and Yukon. Designed to help stroke survivors and their families improve quality of life, cope with challenges and connect with others, the program offers participants the assistance needed to succeed during recovery. 

The program is run by a dedicated team of Volunteer Facilitators and provided free of charge in local communities with thanks to our generous donors for making this happen. The program is made up of 7-8 sessions held once a week and are 2 hours in length. Living with Stroke™ provides survivors with tools to:

  • Support improvements in your quality of life
  • Reduce the risk of having another stroke
  • Helps you take control of your recovery
  • Find the help you need to adjust to life after stroke

During the sessions you will be able to:

  • Share your experiences, ask questions and hear other’s stories
  • Learn easy ways to set goals to change habits that will reduce your risk for a second stroke

2. Physical changes and keeping active

6. Relationships

3. Importance of nutrition

7. Reducing your future risk

4. Communication and thinking abilities

8. Moving forward
