Our BC corporate partners are supporting the Foundation in its efforts to eliminate heart disease and stroke, the leading cause of death in Canada. The philanthropic efforts of some of Canada's leading corporations support public education programs, fundraising events and product promotions that raise millions of dollars for vital heart and stroke research. Their contributions help fund earlier diagnoses, better treatments and new insights into prevention.

Events

Big Bike
Teamwork, fun and fundraising - that's what the Heart & Stroke Big Bike is all about. Built strictly for fun, the Big Bike seats 30 people. Measuring eight feet across at the wheels and extending 30 feet long, it’s truly one of the world’s biggest bikes! The Big Bike visits more than 80 communities throughout BC from April to June.

Celebrity Breakfast
The Celebrity Breakfast brings together 450 Vancouver business leaders for a morning of networking, inspiration and fun, all while being hosted by BC-based celebrities. Taking place in Heart Month (February), the Breakfast is the Foundation’s kick-off to the corporate community.

Heart of Gold Gala
The Heart of Gold Gala is the Foundation’s signature gala event and one of the most exclusive fundraising evenings in BC. Over four hundred guest enjoy one of Vancouver’s most outstanding social evenings of dining, dancing and fundraising.

Employee Groups

Employee groupsEmployees from federal and provincial agencies as well as private and public corporations designate funds to the Heart and Stroke Foundation as their charity of choice. Designations are made through employee giving campaigns with many corporations matching dollar for dollar the donations made by their employees.

Research - Grants in Aid, Chair of Cardiology

Discover Research is published annually by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon. It highlights some of the leading edge work on heart disease and stroke that happens right here in British Columbia The Foundation provides funding to research that best promises to improve our understanding of the causes, the prevention, and the treatment of cardiovascular illnesses. Many of these exceptional projects are featured in Discover Research.

Take the Pressure Down campaign is part of our mandate to build a future free of heart disease and stroke.

Through the support of Heart and Stroke Foundation public awareness, advocacy and research programs, our corporate partners are working to stop the growing obesity epidemic, and help Canadians live longer, healthier lives.

Cause-Related Marketing Promotions

bookletCorporate partners can support the Heart and Stroke Foundation by creating a special promotion in which they make a contribution to the Foundation every time a customer purchases a featured product. Promotions can be run throughout the year and offer corporate partners a great way to show their commitment to the heart health of all Canadians.

The contributions of corporate partners participating in the Red Dress campaign support The Heart Truth, a campaign which aims to raise awareness about the risk of heart disease and stroke for women. Corporate partners can display the Red Dress symbol for the duration of their promotion to show their commitment to women's health.
